Bawli Strander

The Bow Strander is a high speed production machine. Typically there is an external Pay-off feeding a core wire into the Bow Strander. The Bow Strander works in detorsion or pays off wires successively through a series of rotating bows followed by a rotating layplate or pre-spiraling unit, closing die, Capstan and finally the take-up. It is a perfect machine for laying-up of insulated cables. It is also used for multiplexing, stranding of steel wire and rope and composite cable construction. Mimtek produces this machine for bobbin diameter sizes from 315 mm up to 1800 mm. Bobbins are loaded and unloaded into the closed cradles from the top. The Cradles have U-shaped yoke supports for guiding and holding the spool in position during the loading and unloading sequences. Mimtek’s design uses 2 aerodynamically shaped bows with wire guide rollers positioned on the inside surface of the bow. Wires are carried through bearing stands with roller fitted guide tubes. This design provides a wire path that reduces stress and friction on the wires during high speed operation. The Bow Strander is housed in a protective sound proof enclosure which has sliding doors for simple top loading and easy maintenance access on each bay.
